Yum Yum Yum in my TUM! For all you foodies that love the city approving restaurants, coffee shops and little walk-to bistros in the heart of our in-town neighborhoods, I’m in your boat! Please welcome 4th & Swift, a seasonal sophisticated comfort food joint, to the corner of North Ave & Glen Iris. Chef Jay Swift (formerly of South City Kitchen on Crescent Ave) has worked with ai3 design team to create this warm, inviting environment with some phenomenal architectural details. Using the elements of the original structure, they are transforming the old engine room of the Southern Dairies complex (coincidentally in my Keller Williams Realty Intown office complex – lucky me!!) also using contemporary design accents mixed with it’s nostalgic exposed woods, beams, brick and brushed metals.
This is a trend which we’ve seen with some of Atlanta’s other wonderful restaurant developments, like Kevin Rathbun’s and Rathbun’s Steak along side the Concentric Group restaurants like One Midtown Kitchen and Two Urban Licks, and most recently, Parish in Inman Park. I can’t help but get excited to see this revitalization of old to new.
Think of how we can do this in our lives? Find something in your life that you’d like to see revitalized and made new – but use what you HAVE and make it better.
I believe they will be opening in a few weeks, considering I saw the Developer in Atlanta’s City Hall yesterday picking up the Certificate of Occupancy. I can’t wait to try their Berkshire Pork Rib Roast.
